NNA - President of the Republic Joseph Aoun congratulated Lebanese taekwondo champion Laetitia Aoun on qualifying for the 2026 Asian Games following her impressive performance at the Asian Taekwondo Championship in Mongolia, where she reached the quarterfinals after a notable victory over a Chinese opponent.

President Aoun said the achievement "reflects the strong determination of the Lebanese people and their ability to excel despite challenges," wishing her continued success and further accomplishments in upcoming competitions while raising Lebanon’s name high in international arenas.

He added that "the successes achieved by Lebanese male and female athletes in international championships reflect the resilience of the Lebanese people who, despite the difficult circumstances facing their country, continue to affirm Lebanon’s presence and the civilizational message it carries to the world.
