ATA - Albanian production of “Carmen” ballet to be staged at Bologna theatre

TIRANA, May 19 /ATA/ - Following a successful run of four sold-out performances in Tirana, the Albanian ballet production “Carmen” is set to travel to Italy for performances at the prestigious Teatro Comunale di Bologna.

The performances are scheduled for May 23 and 24 and mark an important moment in the international promotion of Albanian art and culture.

At one of Italy’s best-known theatres, Albanian performers will bring to the stage the energy, elegance and professionalism that have characterised the production since its premiere in Tirana.

The production of “Carmen” received an enthusiastic response during its run at the National Theatre of Opera and Ballet, with audiences filling the venue for four consecutive nights and rewarding the cast with prolonged applause.

The ballet featured performances by Anbeta Toromani, Adela Muçollari, Alessandro Macario, Dion Gjinika and Luca Curreli, whose interpretations brought to life a stage production marked by passion, drama and artistic intensity.

Through its retelling of the timeless story of love and freedom, “Carmen” reaffirmed the enduring power of ballet and emerged as one of the standout productions of TKOBAP’s current artistic season.

The National Theatre of Opera and Ballet also said that the first two weeks of May concluded with seven sold-out performances, attended by more than 5,400 art lovers at the theatre.
