ZAGREB, 10 May (Hina) - The Dalmatian Dog House has invited kindergartens and primary schools across Croatia to join a national art project culminating in an attempt to set a Guinness World Record for the world's largest exhibition of Dalmatian dog paintings in Šibenik on 14 September.
The organisers said the project aimed to connect children, art and cultural heritage through the symbol of the Dalmatian dog, a breed closely linked to Croatian identity and recognised worldwide.
Children are invited to create hand-painted artworks measuring about 35 x 50 centimetres, with each work required to feature one or more Dalmatian dogs. Various painting techniques are permitted, including paint, felt-tip pens, markers, pastels and palette knives, while pencil drawings, collages and other non-painting techniques are not allowed.
Each artwork must include at least one Dalmatian dog, while all other elements are left to the imagination and creativity of the children.
Entries must be sent to the organisers in Zagreb by 10 June. A professional jury made up of art teachers will select the most creative works for awards.
The organisers invited kindergartens and schools to take part and become one of the "spots" in the joint record attempt.
