TIRANA, April 25 /ATA/ Exports of the mineral and fuel group recorded an increase of 5 percentage points in March of this year, compared with the same period last year.
In value terms, exports reached 7.5 billion lek, compared with 6 billion lek recorded in March 2025. According to the latest data from the Institute of Statistics, the majority of exports in this category were directed to Kosovo.
Exports of minerals and fuels to Kosovo in March totalled 5.5 billion lek. Despite Albania’s considerable mineral wealth, the added value generated from these exports remains limited.
This situation persists because Albania has not yet developed a closed‑cycle economy, in which minerals are extracted, processed domestically, and subsequently exported.
