Italian gas prices are up 70%, and electricity costs up 100% over 2022, alternative energy company ENEA said in a survey Thursday.
Energy prices remain high compared to the pre-crisis period in 2022 (gas up 70%, electricity up 100%), while the situation in 2025 is stable for emissions and energy consumption in Italy, stable at the previous year's levels, in line with the EU as a whole, said ENEA's analysis of the Italian energy system for the entire 2025, which also highlights a slight growth in renewables (+1%), although still far behind the NECP targets (-20%).
Preliminary data for the first quarter of 2026 show CO2 emissions and energy consumption both decreasing by 1%.
