NNA - In a media comment by UNIFIL Spokesperson Kandice Ardiel on IDF disabling force protection cameras (4 April 2026), she indicated that, "since yesterday, Israeli soldiers have destroyed all the cameras facing Minghy Street at UNIFIL’s Naqoura headquarters. These cameras were positioned to only show the immediate vicinity of our headquarters to ensure the safety and security of the military and civilian peacekeepers living inside."

"We have expressed our serious concern about this to the IDF and will formally protest their actions. We remind them of their obligation to ensure the safety and security of UN personnel and to respect the inviolability of UN premises," Ardiel underlined.
