ITA Airways, the new slimmed-down iteration of former Italian flag carrier Alitalia, closed 2025 with its first net profit, of €209 million, the airline said Wednesday.
Ita Airways' 2025 accounts have been approved, closing the year with the company's initial net profit of €209 million and an EBIT of €25 million (up €22 million compared to 2024), it said.
Revenues amounted to €3.2 billion (of which €2.8 billion in passenger revenue); EBITDA was €404 million.
"2025 marked a turning point for ITA Airways: we closed with a profit for the first time, confirming that we are on the right path," said Joerg Eberhart, CEO and General Manager of ITA Airways.
"It is the result of the commitment of the entire Company and the first tangible effects of the industrial collaboration with the Lufthansa Group." "The approved results confirm the solidity of ITA Airways' path and the value of the collaboration between its shareholders," commented Sandro Pappalardo, President of ITA Airways.
Italia Trasporto Aereo S.p.A., doing business as ITA Airways, is the flag carrier of Italy.
It is owned by the government of Italy, via the Ministry of Economy and Finance, and Lufthansa Group.
The airline was founded in 2020 as a successor to the bankrupt Alitalia.
