Italy's public debt climbed to 3.1123 trillion euros in January, a rise of 16.8 billion with respect to the previous month, the Bank of Italy said on Monday.
It said the rise was driven by an increase in the Treasury's liquid assets of 9.5 billion to 61.9 billion and an increase of 8 billion in the public sector borrowing requirement.
