ANSA - Skiing: Italy's Franzoni comes second in Courchevel World Cup downhill

24-year-old continues his excellent season

Italy's Giovanni Franzoni continued his excellent season on Friday, coming second at the World Cup downhill in Courchevel, France.
It is the 24-year-old's fifth World Cup podium finish this season, including the first victory of his career, in the Super-G at Wengen in January, and his second the following week in the legendary Kitzbühel downhill.
He also won the silver medal in the downhill at the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics last month.
Austria's Vincent Kriechmayr won Friday's race while Switzerland's Marco Odermatt completed the podium, wrapping up his fifth consecutive overall World Cup title with six races to spare and his third downhill crown.
