Four foreign universities have so far applied for a license to establish and operate a higher education branch in Greece, in the form of Legal Entities of University Education, the education, religious affairs and sports ministry announced on Thursday.
According to the ministry, these include Georgetown University, Iowa State University of Science and Technology, the European University Cyprus and Roger Williams University.
They aim to start their operation in the 2026-2027 academic year, while a fifth foreign institution has submitted an application to begin operating from the academic year 2027-2028.
