Journalists representing Romanian media outlets were introduced to the unparalleled natural beauty and the authentic tourism experiences that the island of Chios can offer, as part of a familiarization trip (press trip) organized on the island from February 20 to 25 by the Romanian Office of the Greek National Tourism Organisation (EOT) in cooperation with the Municipality of Chios.
According to the relevant announcement, the aim of the initiative was to highlight Chios as an authentic and multi-themed destination, by acquainting the journalists with the island’s cultural wealth, religious heritage, gastronomy, local customs, and natural environment.
The island’s natural beauty made a particularly strong impression, with visits to beaches such as Agia Fotia, Agia Dynami, Mavra Volia, Tiganí, Yali, Elinta, and Metochi.
As part of the press trip, meetings were also held with institutional and professional bodies of the island, including the Chios Hoteliers Association, the Chios Chamber of Commerce, and the Chios Tourism Organization, aiming to strengthen cooperation and expand Chios’ presence in the Romanian tourism market.
