ALGIERS - The American digital news publication USA Herald on Saturday ran an extensive travel feature providing a comprehensive survey of 20 Algerian cities and places that "deserve to be on every traveler's map."
USA Herald's travel feature, titled "The 20 cities that make Algeria Africa's most overlooked travel destination," started by pointing out that Algeria is "one of the world's largest countries, bigger than all of Western Europe combined," highlighting the paradox between the country's appeal and the fact that it is "the most under-visited destination on the planet."
"That peculiar invisibility is, for the traveler who finds their way in, something close to a gift," the USA Herald said on Algeria, highlighting some of its geographical features and unique natural attractions.
"Seven UNESCO World Heritage Sites, a Mediterranean coastline stretched for nearly a thousand kilometers, Roman ruins that make Pompeii look crowded, and a Sahara that swallows the imagination whole."
Algeria's 20 cities and places featured in the publication's comprehensive regional profile are Algiers, Constantine, Oran, Annaba, Timgad, Tassili n'Ajjer, Ghardaia, Tlemcen, Djemila, Tipaza, Tamanrasset, Bejaia, Biskra, Setif, El Oued, Tizi Ouzou, Skikda, Djanet, Mostaganem and Jijel.
"This is the Algeria few people talk about, and all the more magnificent for it," the travel feature stressed.
