ATA - Albania and Poland step up economic cooperation, with particular focus on investments and bilateral agreements

TIRANA, Feb 23 /ATA/ A high‑level delegation from Albania held an official meeting with representatives of the Ministry of Finance of Poland, with a focus on strengthening economic cooperation, increasing investments, and concluding bilateral agreements.

The Albanian delegation, led by Minister of Economy and Innovation Delina Ibrahimaj and Minister of Finance Petrit Malaj, was received by Poland’s Minister of Finance, Andrzej Domanski, together with other senior representatives of the Polish government.

The meeting touched on the strategic importance of economic relations between the two countries, which have intensified in recent years. Stable indicators of cooperation were presented, including a 9.9% increase in imports from Poland in 2025, reaching €216 million, as well as a 6.3% rise in Albanian exports to Poland, amounting to €26 million.

The meeting also underscored the expansion of Polish corporate presence in Albania, which sees 110 enterprises with Polish capital and 19 joint‑venture entities. Moreover, the stock of Polish foreign direct investment (FDI) has recorded notable growth, reaching €101 million in the third quarter of 2025.
The discussions also focused on the initiative to establish the Albanian Development Bank (ADB), modeled on the successful experience of Poland’s development bank, with the objective of supporting the country’s economic development.
The representatives of both countries expressed their commitment to continue intensive cooperation between the respective technical teams and institutions, with the aim of finalizing and ensuring the effective implementation of bilateral agreements and joint projects.
