Biathlete Lisa Vittozzi and speed skater Davide Ghiotto have been chosen to be Italy's flag-bearers at the closing ceremony of the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics at the Verona Arena on Sunday.
    Vittozzi, 31, won the women's 10 km pursuit at the Games, Italy's first individual biathlon Olympic gold, and helped the Azzurri take silver in the mixed relay event.
    Ghiotto, 32, was part of the team that won the men's speed skating team pursuit along with Andrea Giovannini and Michele Malfatti.
    With three days to go to the closing ceremony, Milano Cortina is already Italy's best-ever Winter Olympics.
    So far the Azzurri have won 26 medals, six more than Italy's previous best showing at a Winter Olympics at Lillehammer in 1994, and the tally includes nine golds.
