NNA - President of the Maronite General Council, Engineer Michel Matta, received today at the Council’s headquarters in Al-Mdawar, the President of Alexander College in Cyprus, Dr. Mtanios Halabi, accompanied by the Consul General, Mr. Serge Eid, the official representative of the Council in Cyprus.

The meeting addressed ways to enhance educational and academic cooperation, especially in supporting Maronite students in Cyprus. A memorandum of understanding has been signed between the council and the college, aimed at providing facilities, grants and support opportunities for students to enhance their academic presence and ensure the best educational conditions for them.

The visit concluded with a tour of the council building, the Church of Our Lady of Light, and the Beirut Development Center for Primary Health Care, where the delegation learned about the health and social role that the center plays in serving the community.
