APS - Algeria partakes in 46th International Tourism Exchange in Milan

ALGIERS - The National Tourism Office (ONT) began its participation Tuesday in the International Travel Exhibition (Borsa Internazionale del Turismo-BIT) in Milan, Italy, according to an office statement.

As part of the Ministry of Tourism and Handicrafts’ program to promote Algeria as a premier destination, the ONT delegation, comprising tourism operators and craftsmen, is participating in the 46th edition of the "BIT Milan 2026," held from February 10 to 12 at the Fiera Milano City center.

Regarded as one of the most significant regional and international tourism events, the exhibition features an Algerian pavilion designed to showcase the country's unique architectural and heritage features. It is equipped with promotional tools to help national operators market the "Algerian product" to international buyers.

A primary focus of this year's participation is desert tourism, which reflects Algeria's unique identity. The delegation is also highlighting the country's Roman heritage, the world's second-largest collection of sites after Italy, and religious tourism routes, particularly the Saint Augustine trail, which is drawing increasing interest from Italian travelers.

The Algerian pavilion also features artisans showcasing traditional crafts and authentic art pieces that reflect the richness of the national cultural heritage. Throughout the event, efforts will focus on intensifying contact with foreign operators and international media to strengthen Algeria’s position among global destinations.

The promotional program includes a showcase of videos and photographs, alongside the distribution of materials designed to provide visitors with a comprehensive insighit into Algeria’s distinctive tourism landscape, the statement added.
