The 39^th General Assembly of the Federation of Arab News Agencies (FANA) has reelected as Secretary General Dr. Farid Ayar, for a five-year term in office, beginning 1^st January 2012.
FANA has an observer status in the Alliance of Mediterranean News Agencies (AMAN).
