Pavlovcic the new director of the Slovenian Press Agency (STA).
Pavlovcic is scheduled to take over on 1 December, as the incumbent Igor

Pavlovcic, who is currently working for the country's leading business
daily Finance, was the business desk editor at STA in the 1990s.

"As director, I could...facilitate the development of the agency and its
services," Pavlovcic said in a statement for STA upon the appointment.

She intends to promote new services and consolidate the agency's
position both on the Slovenian media market as well as in Europe,
especially through the STA's English language service.

Pavlovcic considers her past experience as STA business desk editor as
an advantage, but said she would be able to state her priorities after
meeting all STA staff. This, she said, will be her first task in the new
office.

Pavlovcic, who was born in 1957 in Murska Sobota, NE, holds a degree in
sociology from the Faculty of Social Sciences, but has also completed
the General Management Programme at the Bled School of Management.

She came to STA in 1993 from the former Slovenian Electricity Authority,
for which she worked for 10 years. She left the post of STA business
desk editor in late 1998, when she began to work for the business
publisher GV Revije as editor of the supplement "Trgovina" (Trade).

After the company was shut down in March 2005 and some of its editions
were transferred to the affiliated publisher Finance, Pavlovcic started
working for the daily as a commentator and editor of "Trgovina".

As the sole owner of STA since earlier this year, the government also
confirmed the STA financial report for 2004 and the business plan for 2005.
