Lusa - Business News - Portugal: Óbidos International Literature Festival kicks off Thursday

Óbidos, Portugal, Sept. 25 (Lusa) – The fourth edition of Óbidos International Literature Festival (FOLIO) kicks off on Thursday in Óbidos in Portugal, where authors and the public are to participate in initiatives around the theme “Pleasure and Business, The Invention of the Future.”
This edition fosters “a reflection about the relationship between pleasure and business and how that is reflected in the future,” the mayor of Óbidos, Humberto Marques, said.
The first day's focus is to celebrate 20 years since José Saramago won the Nobel Literature Prize and pay tribute to Eduardo Lourenço.
Renowned writers attending the event include Carlos Franz (Chile), Karla Suárez (Cuba), Abdul Rahman Azzam (Qatar), Ismael Mateus (Angola), António Torres (Brazil), José Manuel Fajardo (Spain) and Angolan writers Pepetela and Ondjaki.
Portuguese writers attending the event include Nuno Camarneiro, João Soares, Luís Amado, Hugo Mezena, José Riço Direitinho, Henrique Manuel Bento Fialho, Dulce Maria Cardoso, Alfredo Cunha, Pacheco Pereira and Fernando Rosas.
