Lusa - Business News - Mozambique: Four miners killed in collapse

Maputo, Dec. 14 (Lusa) - Four miners were killed at a mine in Sussundenga, in the province of Manica in central Mozambique, on Thursday, local authorities have said.
"They were carrying out their work and at around 4 pm on Thursday the mine collapsed," Rosa Bias, administrator of Sussundenga, said, cited by TV channel STV.
The young miners who were killed were part of a legal association dedicated to mining in the region.
According to Bias, the three bodies were found on Thursday and the fourth on Friday.
"We believe the mine collpased due to the frailty of the ground as it had rained in the region a few days ago," Bias said.
