Lusa - Business News - Portugal: SMEs to have access to €200 million credit line




Porto, Dec. 14 (Lusa) – The European Investment Bank and the Development Finance Institution approved a credit line worth €200 million at the University Club in Porto, northern Portugal on Friday to support small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) that undergo a succesful restructuring process.
Portugal's economy minister, Pedro Siza Vieira, pointed out at the closing of the signing ceremony that the country had to support companies that had "gone through a difficult restructuring processs."
The aim of the credit line is to give SMEs instruments they need to invest in innovation and to become more competitive, enabling them to buy new machinery and raw materials.
